Oscar Urcuyo

Latin – R&B – Funk

Oscar Urcuyo is a native San Franciscan, and an accomplished bass player that’s been an active musician since the age of 15. He’s performed with well over 50 bands since 1981 and at hundreds of events.

His experiences include playing with such household industry names as Michael, Regina & Davud Winans (Winans Gospel Family, Raz B (DeMario Thornton from B2K), Carmen Milagro, Marquinho Brasil (Mariah Carey, Miles Davis, Al Jarreau), Rich Armstrong (Boz Scaggs), Mingo Lewis (Santana, Al di Miola), Sammy Totah (Santana), Richard Segovia (Eddie Money, Allman Brothers Band), Black Nature (Refugee Allstars), Salvador Sanatana (Carlos Santana’s son), Danny Thomas, Felton Pilate & Cedric Martin (Confunkshun), Bennie Murray and Andre Webb (Sila’s Afrofunk Orchestra, Mike “Meezy” Marshall (Timex Social Club), Wayne Foote & Mark Adams (Slave), Victor Wooten and Lincoln Goines (bass legends).

He maintains a digital project (pre production) studio in his home that includes state of the art drum sampling and sequencing and state of the art outboard gear. He uses exclusively top of the line stage gear (Music Man Stingray Bass & Aria Pro II SB1000 4 string Basses) and an Eden WT 800C hybrid head, over a Bag-End 4×10 cabinet.
